About Kidventure Overnight Camps
The Overnight Camp Experience
One of the most memorable experiences a child can have is to attend overnight camp. The sense of independence combined with opportunities to learn and share with other kids leaves an indelible mark on their lives. Kidventure’s Overnight Camps have been an amazing experience for thousands of campers since 1994.
Considered one of the ‘best opportunities’ for children by the Houston Chronicle, Kidventure offers one and two-week Safari adventures at our camp at Mo-Ranch in Hunt, Texas and Echo sessions at Camp Eagle near Rocksprings. Deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, we our surrounded by unmatched beauty, tradition and opportunity for feats of character.
Safari and Echo are about growing and creating memories that will last a lifetime! There is no more professional, dynamic, rewarding and memorable camp opportunity. Experience our camps and give your child the adventure of a lifetime.
Lodging
Although we may get muddy and be rustic during the day, nothing feels better than a warm, clean bed at night. Our dorms and cabins are comfortable and modern.
Eligibility
We will take a limited number of campers, a maximum of 25 girls and 25 boys per overnight camp session. Safari campers must be between ages 8-13 at the time of camp, and Echo campers between the ages of 13-15. Since our inception, we have limited each session to only 50 campers. This assures that our campers get valuable attention and the opportunity to form many new friendships. Our campers come from all over Texas and as far away as Mexico, France, and Hong Kong!
Transportation
Transportation to and from camp from Houston and Austin is provided and included in your camp tuition. We travel on full-size luxury buses equipped with air conditioning, restrooms and on-board entertainment. Part of the Kidventure experience is the bus ride up and back!
Meals
All meals are served in wonderful dining halls and contain a wide assortment of choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals are served cafeteria-style with additional choices like a salad bar or sandwich bar. We are happy to make accommodations for food allergies or dietary restrictions. Just let us know – we’ll make it happen!
Medical Considerations
All staff are First Aid and CPR Certified. In case of medical emergency or sickness, children will be transported to Kerrville Hospital for care, with whom we have a long-standing relationship. We are always aware that the best way to avoid illness or injury is to take appropriate precautions. Things like personal application of sunscreen and constant hydration are some of the best practices at camp.
If your child will be taking medication at camp, please fill out our Medical Dosage Form and submit medication to the camp director in its original container. Please do not send medication in your child’s luggage.
Registration and Tuition
You are required to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit toward your tuition and $30 non-refundable registration fee upon registration (per child). Your balance will be charged to your card on file on May 1, 2012.
Tuition costs vary by program and session. All tuition prices include meals, lodging, activities and bus transportation to and from camp from either our Houston or Austin drop-off locations.
